A tiny cottage that’s narrower than a London bus has gone on sale for a whopping £429,995.
At it’s narrowest point, the tiny home is just five ft nine inches wide, and the largest room is just eight foot two inches wide, making it narrower than a London bus, which are an inch larger.
Located in Padstow, Cornwall, the brightly coloured house sits on Duke Street and it is a popular sight for tourists as it is located on a walking route in the town.
As reported in The Independent, the house has previously been a holiday home for most of the year, with the current owners occupying it for about 30 per cent of the time.
The cottage is currently listed for sale on Rightmove, where images show the blue exterior squeezed into the street beside two larger homes.
Inside it’s exactly what you’d expect from a small Cornish property, with uneven steps, a rustic kitchen, and nautical furnishings scattered around the place.
The description reads: “Superbly presented and delightful, this iconic cottage offers modern conveniences without taking the charm and period features away.
“These include beamed ceilings and deep window sills, eco heating and a sunny courtyard.
“Outside a useful wash house and storage shed, within a sunny social space shared with other cottages, but each with a spacious area.
“This property has featured in TV series as well as being part of the Padstow guides’ walk. Currently, a successful Holiday let with Cornish Horizons, with repeat bookings and great feedback. 70% occupancy with owners using the rest of the year.”
Meanwhile, in London, a house measuring just 1.66 metres at its narrowest point went on sale for £950,000.
The property is wedged neatly between a doctor’s surgery and a shuttered hairdressing salon in Shepherds Bush in the west of the capital.
It has five floors and measures a total of 1,034 square metres – and is described as having a “unique charm”.
